S.W. Collins President Sam Collins Presents Scholarships on Behalf of the Maine Blue Collar Scholarship Foundation
CARIBOU, ME – The Maine Blue Collar Scholarship Foundation proudly awarded more than $180,000 in scholarships to 107 students across the state who are pursuing careers in the trades. Among this year’s recipients were four students from the Caribou Tech Center, including Kaleb Poitras, an S.W. Collins Pioneer, who received a $1,500 scholarship to further his education in electrical linework.
The Foundation’s mission is to support and encourage students who are passionate about entering the skilled trades—a vital and growing sector of Maine’s workforce. These scholarships help remove financial barriers and empower students to pursue hands-on careers in fields such as electrical work, plumbing, welding, and HVAC.
Sam Collins, President of S.W. Collins Company, had the honor of presenting the scholarships on behalf of the Foundation. Supporting these future professionals is not only a commitment to their success, but a crucial step in building a stronger, more sustainable workforce for the state.
The Maine Blue Collar Scholarship Foundation continues to champion education paths that lead directly into meaningful, in-demand careers—making a lasting impact on communities throughout Maine.
